What do you need help with?

Select the option that fits — the assessment adapts to match your situation with no unnecessary questions.

Most heat pump problems are not solved by guessing.

🌡️  Rooms not reaching temperature
⚡  Higher electricity usage than expected
🚿  Hot water running out or not getting hot enough
⏱️  System running all day without reaching setpoint
🔄  Frequent cycling — turning on and off every few minutes
🔊  Outdoor unit making unusual noise
⚠️  Fault codes appearing on the controller
❓  Installer settings never properly explained
🛠️  Unsure if the system was commissioned correctly

A heat pump configured without heat pump-specific knowledge can cost 40–60% more to run than a correctly set up system. The settings are different, the logic is different, and getting it wrong shows up on your electricity bill every month.

Weather compensation, heating curve gradient, flow temperature, DHW scheduling, minimum run-time — these are not boiler concepts. They require specific heat pump engineering knowledge to set correctly.

Most heat pump problems need measured readings, controller review, hydraulic checks and correct system setup — not guessing. GreenWave uses a structured engineering approach before making any recommendation.

Your heat pump assessed across four areas.

Instead of a single score, GreenWave uses four traffic light indicators — each showing whether that area of your system needs attention. Preliminary indicators are based on your answers. Final assessment is confirmed by a GreenWave engineer on site.

★★★★★
Our Samsung heat pump had been running for two years and our bills were much higher than we expected. The GreenWave engineer found our weather compensation had never been set up. The difference in running costs has been noticeable since the visit.

We had a fault code coming up on and off for months and the installer couldn't explain it. GreenWave diagnosed it within the first hour and gave us a clear written explanation of what was wrong and what was done to fix it. Exactly what we needed.

The online health check before the visit was a great idea. By the time the engineer arrived he already knew our system, the issues we'd reported and what to look at first. It felt like a proper professional service — not just someone turning up with a spanner.

Common questions about GreenWave and heat pump servicing.

Do I need a service if my heat pump is still working?
Yes. A working heat pump can still be poorly set up, inefficient, overdue maintenance, or masking early faults. Many heat pumps in Ireland are running correctly in a basic sense but consuming significantly more electricity than they should because settings like weather compensation and heating curve gradients have never been correctly configured. Annual servicing is also required by most manufacturers as a condition of warranty.
Can GreenWave guarantee lower bills?
No. Bills depend on weather, insulation, usage, electricity tariffs and system design. GreenWave identifies where your system may be working harder than necessary and what can be improved — but we do not make savings promises. Our approach is evidence-led: recommendations are based on what can be measured and verified on site, not estimates.
What is the difference between a service and an optimisation?
A service checks condition and operation — pressure, filters, outdoor unit, basic settings and operational verification. Optimisation goes deeper: operating readings, weather compensation curves, heating curve gradient, flow temperatures, DHW scheduling, minimum run-time, system behaviour and before/after performance comparison. GreenWave's Performance Service combines both into a single visit.
Do you work on all brands?
GreenWave works with all major heat pump brands installed in Ireland: Samsung, Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Hitachi, Vaillant, NIBE, Grant, Panasonic, and Hisense. Our engineer workflow includes manufacturer-specific controller navigation and settings guidance for each brand, so the visit is always tailored to your specific system.
Should I upload photos with my assessment?
Yes — photos help significantly. Photos of the outdoor unit, cylinder, controller, pipework, pressure gauge and any fault codes displayed help the engineer identify potential issues before arriving. A GreenWave engineer who arrives prepared can use the visit time more effectively than one starting from scratch on site.
How do I access my results after completing the assessment?
After completing the assessment, you are taken to your personal GreenWave portal — a results page showing your four health indicators, your case reference number, and any quote or recommendation issued by GreenWave. You can return to this page at any time using your reference token. Click "My Results" in the navigation at any time to look up your case.
What is weather compensation and why does it matter?
Weather compensation automatically adjusts the flow temperature of your heat pump based on outdoor temperature — warmer water on cold days, cooler water on mild days. Heat pumps produce heat far more cheaply at lower temperatures, so correctly configured weather compensation reduces running costs substantially. Many Irish heat pumps are installed without weather compensation properly active, which is one of the most common causes of high electricity bills.
Will I get a report?
All GreenWave visits include written findings. Performance Service and Deep Optimisation visits include a more detailed written summary covering operating readings, settings reviewed, any changes made, and recommendations. Fault Diagnostic visits include a written root cause summary. Annual Service visits include a written service record.
